Did you know that Australia has reciprocal healthcare agreements with 10 countries? These countries include:
– the Netherlands
– New Zealand
– the UK
This agreement means that Australians are able to access urgent emergency healthcare overseas. Please note however that these services are not a substitute for travel insurance and can only be used if treatment is essential while you are in one of these countries.
More information about health care while traveling, and international heal agreements can be viewed on the Medicare website by clicking here.
